The journey

Day 01

Arrival in Colombo + Airport Pick-up + Kandy Transfer + Cultural City Introduction

Colombo International Airport → Kandy | Approx. 120 km / around 3 hours, traffic permitting Arrive at Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport, meet your local representative/driver and begin the scenic drive inland towards Kandy, the historic hill city surrounded by green hills. After check-in, enjoy a gentle city introduction and a walk around scenic Kandy Lake if arrival time permits. Visit Sri Dalada Maligawa, commonly known in English as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, this important Buddhist temple, if opening hours and the day’s schedule allow. Please dress modestly and follow local rules at religious sites. Optional, time permitting: local handicraft shops, a cultural dance performance or a short visit to a viewpoint. Overnight stay: Kandy.

Day 02

Kandy Highlights + Kandy to Nuwara Eliya Transfer + Tea Country Drive + Gregory Lake Views

Kandy → Nuwara Eliya | Allow around 3 hours or more, depending on stops and traffic If time allows before leaving Kandy, explore the celebrated botanical gardens, known for extensive tropical plant collections and landscaped grounds. Allow adequate visiting time. Travel through the central highlands, with scenic views of tea plantations and mountain roads. Visit a tea estate or tea factory, subject to opening hours, to learn about the growing, processing and tasting of world-famous Ceylon tea. Enjoy views of rolling tea gardens along the way. After check-in, if time permits, enjoy a relaxed walk around Gregory Lake or explore Nuwara Eliya’s colonial-era streets and gardens. Optional, time-permitting: Ramboda Falls, Victoria Park, Hakgala Botanical Gardens, Seetha Amman Temple or Lover’s Leap viewpoint. Overnight stay: Nuwara Eliya.

Day 03

Nuwara Eliya to Ella Transfer + Nine Arches Bridge + Ravana Falls

Nuwara Eliya → Ella | Allow around 3 hours by road; train travel requires advance schedule/seat confirmation After breakfast, check out and travel towards Ella through lush hills, tea plantations and mountain scenery. A train journey can be a memorable alternative on this route, but seats, schedules and onward transfers must be confirmed in advance. Visit the famous stone railway viaduct set among tea-covered hills and forest. Train timings vary, so a train crossing cannot be guaranteed. If time and fitness permit, take the relatively popular walk to Little Adam’s Peak for panoramic views, then enjoy free time at Ella’s cafés and small shops. Stop at Ravana Falls, a well-known cascade near the Ella–Wellawaya road. Enjoy the view from safe designated areas; wet rocks can be slippery. Optional activities at additional cost: Flying Ravana zipline, a longer hike to Ella Rock, a local cooking class or a café stop overlooking the valley.

Day 04

Ella to Bentota Transfer + South Coast Experiences + River Safari + Beach Sunset

Ella → Bentota | Approx. 255 km / around 4–5 hours or more depending on route and traffic After breakfast, depart Ella for the southwest coast. This is a substantial transfer day; the exact departure time and stops should be planned with the driver. If the chosen route and timing allow, make a short photo stop at this well-known palm-fringed coastal viewpoint. This stop may be omitted if the transfer is running late. Subject to time and availability, enjoy a boat safari through the Bentota River’s mangrove-lined waterways and look out for birds and other wildlife. Check in and unwind by the coast. Enjoy a sunset stroll along Bentota Beach if daylight and weather permit. Optional stops subject to route/time: Brief Garden, Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, Galle Lighthouse/Old Town or local handicraft shops. Overnight stay: Bentota.

Day 05

Bentota to Colombo Transfer + Colombo City Tour + Shopping

Bentota → Colombo | Allow around 2 hours or more, depending on traffic and stops Enjoy breakfast and a relaxed coastal morning. If not visited on Day 4, a short river safari or beach visit may be possible, subject to schedule. Travel to Colombo and explore selected city highlights such as Galle Face Green, the Old Dutch Hospital precinct, Colombo Fort, Independence Square and Lotus Tower (external view or visit subject to tickets). Use remaining time for souvenir shopping or sampling Sri Lankan street food such as kottu roti or hoppers. Optional, time permitting: Colombo National Museum, art galleries, temples/churches or an open-deck city tour.

Day 06

Breakfast + Hotel Check-out + Airport Transfer

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport in good time for your onward flight, allowing a suitable buffer for traffic and international check-in. Return home with memories of tea-covered hills, heritage, waterfalls, coastal scenery and warm island hospitality.
